The entrance hall is a little bigger than the chamber, but it is not a huge area. There are several doors leading from each side, some to the dungeons, some to the dining room. The back is taken up with a staircase leading to the upper floors.

This dining hall is for students only. The professors can eat in the hall if they wish, but most will eat elsewhere. The room is made up of several large, round tables that sit about fifteen on each.

When you go through the door at the back of the dining hall you will be led into the kitchen. This is the only access to it. Unlike Hogwarts, there are no house elves to do the dirty work. If students want to eat they must cook for themselves, and if they want clean clothes, they must wash their own. It's not so easy for half-breeds on the island.

The main staircase leads from the entrance hall right up to the fourth floor. There are a few other back way staircases but they are not all safe for use. The main staircase is the most used way of getting about the castle.
